Converser,
a Web-enabled platform for capturing, storing and managing audio records of conversations and dictation via phone, mobile phone, computer or PDA
Minneapolis, March 1, 2006 -- Converser Technologies today announced the launch of Converser, a combined Web/telephony platform that delivers both call management and audio record keeping for a wide range of business applications. Converser enables businesses to capture audio records of phone conversations, conference calls, brainstorming discussions, and training sessions, as well as dictation via telephones, cell phones, computers, or PDAs. Voice data is recorded into high quality MP3 format and filed in a secure web vault, then assigned a workflow for review, transcription or translation. Converser is available as either a managed service, or deployed on an in-house server.
"Converser is a multifaceted convergence platform for managing calls and voice data for businesses of all sizes," says Converser President and CEO Dan Vatland. "It can serve as a low-cost phone system or PBX for small business users, while also providing a way to record phone conversations or dictation. This makes it ideal for applications such as customer service, sales and training, and for use in markets such as health care, legal, education and professional services."
Initial applications based on the Converser platform include:
Virtual phone system (PBX) -- Small businesses and startups can project a polished, professional image with vPBX, which can be configured in minutes and creates an automated telephone menu (e.g. "press 1 for sales, 2 for service"). Other features include directories with assigned extensions that can transfer calls to any telephone or cell phone number.
Call recording is also integrated into this solution. Converser is priced as a monthly subscription and competes effectively with even low-end PBXs, without substantial upfront investment in equipment.
Call routing and logging -- For sales and support organizations, vCall takes the virtual PBX to the next level with "hunt group" features such as automatic call distribution (ACD), which routes incoming calls round-robin style, or to the first available line in a group of extensions. Sales groups, support teams and call centers can record and document all calls for later review, quality control, and continuous improvement.
Medical or legal dictation -- Medical, legal and other professionals can dictate directly into a wireless PDA, phone or cell phone to record comments and observations to a secure website. Converser offers two value-added services, vScribe and vTranslate, with authorized transcription specialists and/or translators available to create text documents from audio records. The final document is then routed back to the originator for review and approval as part of a patient or client record.
Training and collaboration -- Multi-party conference calls, or even in-office meetings can be documented via vMeeting, which records the entire discussion and even identifies participants through caller identification. Attendees and others can be granted access to replay the discussion, which can be supported with slides, web pages and other visuals, enabling rapid training and knowledge transfer. Meeting minutes can either be reviewed online as audio replay, or be transcribed into a document via Converser's vScribe service, and emailed to all participants for review and approval.
